Mobius' Q2 2025 Highlights

01.07.25

In the eternally wise words of the cast of High School Musical...

"What time is it? Summertime!"

And that means that we are now moving into the next quarter of 2025. But before we fully wave goodbye to the cool breeze of spring and say hello to the oppressive heat of summer, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the cultural delights of April, May and June!

If you want to reminisce further, you can read all about the Mobius team's Q1 highlights here.

I loved working on the marketing for Thanks For Having Me with Kit Bromovsky at Riverside Studios. It was a fast turnaround project but thanks to a starry cast, great reviews and some really lovely bits of video content and design we were able to run a very smooth campaign with some strong sales!

Kamasi Washington at Project House was unbelievable - he's one of the tightest jazz musicians around (with an equally tight band) and to see him in such an intimate space was incredible. He also performed a track for which his toddler came up with the melody, sounded significantly less like Bluey than you'd assume...

Sounds like I’m justifying being left behind but I’m genuinely really excited for working on our summer shows outside Edinburgh! It’s so easy to think that All Of Fringe ends up in Scotland for August but there’s always so much still happening in London and across the rest of the UK. I love working on these shows and figuring out how to engage audiences in different ways over the summer months.

I also loved working on Thanks For Having Me with Kit Bromovsky at Riverside Studios as the PR client lead. Not only were we working with a fantastic cast and creative team, but the show itself was funny, heartfelt and insightful - it really felt like I was an audience member on the set of a classic sit-com. We had some absolutely terrific previews, interviews and reviews which resulted in a strong campaign in all of our departments and we enjoyed a delightfully starry press night as well.

Technically this was mid-March but I absolutely HAD to squeeze in my life changing experience watching Sabrina Carpenter in Manchester’s Co-Op Live arena. A true theatre girly at heart, the production value was impeccable and so thought out, not to mention themed cocktails at the bar and INSANE vocals from Miss Carpenter herself.

One Thing I'm Looking Forward to Next Quarter
As part of the core Edinburgh Fringe PR team, I am so looking forward to return to the festival and check out some incredible theatre, dance and comedy from some of the most talented artists in the world. It’s always such a privilege and I look forward to all of the networking events and bumping into people across the city, even if I can’t string a sentence together by the end from exhaustion!

I headed over to Wolverhampton to talk at China Plate’s Producer Training Programme. I always enjoy nerding out about PR and and why we do things the way we do them - and it’s good to pause and think about that to see if there’s anything we need to refresh in the changing landscape of media

Personal Cultural Highlight
A trip to Oxford with my book club, we did an interesting walking tour about J.R.R. Tolkein and C.S. Lewis (and then went to the pub. A lot).

One Thing I'm Looking Forward to Next Quarter
I’ve yet to visit Sadler’s Wells East, so excited to be doing my first press night there right at the start of July with Candoco and Dan Daw’s Over and Over (and over again).

I really enjoyed attending the theatrical reading and a discussion at the Norwegian Embassy in May. It was fascinating to hear more about staging plays elsewhere in Europe and alternative approaches and perspectives on playwriting.

Personal Cultural Highlight
Seeing A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Bridge Theatre! I missed it when it was on in 2019 and always regretted it. It was such a treat to finally get to see it and such a fun evening out!

One Thing I'm Looking Forward to Next Quarter
I’m really looking forward to attending the AMA conference in Edinburgh next month! I always come away from the conference feeling refreshed and full of plans for future bits of marketing, and it’s lovely to catch up with people there.

A Mobius first – we named a c2c train in honour of Wilko Johnson at Southend Central. A great day – lovely reminiscences from his family and friends on the way back to Fenchurch St, and a whole load of press coverage on ITV London, The Times and Rail Business Daily.

Personal Cultural Highlight
My son and I really enjoyed All Star Circus at the Brighton Fringe – complete with photo opp at the end for him.

One Thing I'm Looking Forward to Next Quarter
We’ve got a lovely set of shows for the Edinburgh Fringe this year – looking forward to seeing those and others in August.

I went along to The Stage Future of Theatre conference in April. It was my first time at the event and I really enjoyed it. Great talks and speakers around the theme survival and I came away with lots of ideas and thoughts. The positivity in the room for Indhu Rubasingham, who had announced her first season as Artistic Director of the National Theatre the day before and gave a speech, was definitely a highlight

I managed to get a last-minute ticket to the one and only Kylie Minogue at the O2 a couple of weeks ago on her Tension tour. Of course, she puts on an amazing show but the thing I loved the most was seeing a woman who has just turned 57 - an age when, let’s be honest, most of us are considered past it - at the peak of her powers sounding and looking incredible. Kylie has been a popstar for nearly 40 years now and had one of the biggest songs of career Padam Padam two years ago. Even if her music isn’t your thing, you have to respect the longevity

One Thing I'm Looking Forward to Next Quarter
I’m very much looking forward to seeing Stereophonic next month. Who doesn’t love a bit of Fleetwood Mac?!

I also was able to attend the event at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in London where a panel discussed “What does it take for plays to make it on the international stage?” It was really interesting to hear playwrights, directors, producers, venue managers and translators all discuss the journey of trying to bring Norwegian works (and international theatre in general) to UK audiences. Obviously Henrik Ibsen was mentioned but the main conversations were around Nobel Prize-winning Jon Fosse as well as Fredrik Brattberg and Kathrine Nedrejord, whose works we were treated to theatrical readings of. Although I didn’t get to flex my Norwegian Duolingo skills, this event was massively insightful and inspirational when looking at creating work that translates across culture.

They always say never meet your heroes, so instead I sat in the gods of The London Palladium and settled in for An Evening With Phil Rosenthal. Phil Rosenthal is the creator behind Everybody Loves Raymond, the star of Somebody Feed Phil, and the funniest, kindest, most joyful human alive. And this evening was no different - I did indeed cry with him, laugh with him, sing with him, and leave wanting to eat a lot of food. I’m now reliving it all by watching the newest season if his food travel show on Netflix.

One Thing I'm Looking Forward to Next Quarter
As a big fan of summer there are many things I’m looking forward to but I would be lying if I didn’t say that going to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe (FOR THE FIRST TIME!) is right at the top of that list.

Working with Lambeth Fringe Festival for the second year running has been a delight already. Personally I’ve loved creating our “Humans Of Lambeth” series at allows me to put both my photojournalist and theatre hats on. Launching the first of our interviews was a lovely way to round of Q2… Watch this space for the next features in Q3.

Personal Cultural Highlight
I loved the Leigh Bowery exhibition at The Tate Modern. Spanning throughout the artist’s short but incredible life, this felt more like being at a party at points than an exhibition, but still remained remarkably poignant. If you like photography, queer culture, clubbing, NYC ballroom scene and sequins (and so much more!) definitely check it out.

(n/b - I also saw Charli XCX in Portugal and can confirm, Brat Summer 2.0 is very much happening.)

One Thing I'm Looking Forward to Next Quarter
A highlight of my year is always the Mobius company picnic. As a member of the marketing team, I’m based in the London office all summer and always feel sad to see some of the PR team head on up to Edinburgh for a few weeks. It’s become one of our best traditions to have a picnic all together in July - bring on the lashings of ginger beer!

We'd love to hear some of your cultural highlights from 2025 so far, whether they're professional or personal get in touch and let us know how the year is going for you or if you have any exciting things coming up!
