Mobius' Q3 2026 Highlights

Wait did you really say it was the end of September already!? Fraid so folks.

To wrap up on a very busy summer the Mobius team look back at some of their highlights from the last few months as well as what they're most looking forward to in the final quarter.

Professional highlight

I really enjoyed working on A Fine Idea with Matthew Schmolle and ice&fire at Arcola. An eye opening subject matter looking at world aid with some really strong assets from Jake Waby and Someone I Met Today to work with. 

Own cultural highlight

It feels biased as it was a work one too but genuinely NOTED by The Back Pack and Dutch Kills at Edinburgh this year was unbelievable! An hour of physical theatre, camera trickery and roughly 12,0000000 (give or take) hand drawn illustrations made this something completely different and completely spectacular. If ever you get chance to see them, just go, you can figure out what the show is later. 

One thing you're looking forward to in the next quarter

Developing our work with the Museum of Comedy more - it’s been really interesting getting started on their inhouse marketing recently and now we’re in a place to start trialing and reporting on new aspects which is always exciting (look if you can’t be marketing nerd when it’s your full time job there’s no hope for any of us)!

Professional Highlight

I’ve had a pucking good time (see what I did?!) working on the best (if I do say so myself) Heated Rivalry musical parody out there! The show starts its run in London on 7^th October at Underbelly Soho after acclaimed runs Off Broadway and in Edinburgh. It’s such a fun, clever show and the audience were having such a blast at the Fringe and I’m sure the London shows will be just as feral and fun!

Own Cultural Highlight

I saw Kanan Gill at the Fringe two years ago which was a last minute ‘I’ve got some free time, what’s on near I am’ type ticket purchase. But it was truly destiny because he has become one of my favourite comedians. I saw his latest show Not This Again at the Eventim Apollo which I loved. If dry, existential, observational material is your thing (see the clip about soaking dried fruits when you turn 35), he’s your man and you can find his previous specials on Netflix and YouTube

One Thing You’re Looking Forward to in the Next Quarter

Hayfever at the Wyndham with *THE* Christine Baranski and Richard E Grant. I’m super excited to see these legends in the flesh.

Professional Highlight

It was such a pleasure working with Xhloe and Natasha, Soho Theatre and SoHo Playhouse on the Edinburgh Fringe and London transfer runs of Bigfoot Ripped My Dog In Half I Saw It. Seeing them win a fourth consecutive Scotsman Fringe First was a joy and we’re looking forward to working on the New York off-Broadway run taking place this Fall as well. They just don’t stop!! 

Own Cultural Highlight

Is it cheating to just say Edinburgh Fringe in general!? I had the pleasure of seeing so many incredible shows over the course of the month across theatre, cabaret, dance and comedy where I was then able to meet and chat with the extraordinary talent behind them. Always such a rich experience! Special shoutouts to The Woman on the Edge, Swamplesque - The Burlesque Parody, Gutter and Millicent Sarre is Too Tired to Smash (Patriarchy).

One thing you're looking forward to in the next quarter (Oct - Nov)

Really sinking our teeth into our SoHo Playhouse fall season where we’re working alongside the iconic downtown Manhattan venue with the likes of Xhloe and Natasha, Recent Cutbacks, Elf Lyons and Awkward Prods, to name but a few. Expanding our network further into New York is such an exciting next step for Mobius and we can’t wait to see where it takes us!

Professional Highlight

I loved working on Legal Aliens’ Ali in Wonder(Eng)land, which shows coming to England as an immigrant through a Lewis Carroll lens of absurdity. It felt like such a timely and important show (and also helps that it was at Jacksons Lane just down the road from me!

Own cultural highlight

(To brag or) not to brag, but just returned from holiday and went to the actual Elsinore Castle. Ok, Shakespeare probably never actually went there himself, but they say his description of it is accurate. It was much more fun than I expected, aside from pop up Hamlet sketches (not entirely true to script!) the party exhibition is really nicely done, just the right side of cheesy. Yes, I did put on one of the costumes, no, I’m not sharing that photo.

Looking forward to

Post-Edinburgh, I’ve booked in for a load of comedians taking their shows to London, the one I’m most looking forward to is Li Jin Hao at Soho Theatre, I saw ten mins of his first show at the Union Chapel and immediately booked for the full show, it didn’t disappoint!

Professional Highlight

Doing a full campaign for the Anish Kapoor exhibition at Southbank Centre — a high-profile, high-quality installation artist I’ve respected for a very long time. We had a lot of tricks from our previous visual art campaign on the M.C. Escher exhibition at Somerset House and it was satisfying to be able to apply these to another job.

Own Cultural Highlight

The whole of Edinburgh Fringe was pretty special! I am quite militant when it comes to planning, and squeeze in a lot. Only 3 duds out of about 22 shows which I’d say is a very high hit rate! My top picks were Buggers by Alistair Hall and Megasquirt.

Looking Forward to

Halloween season! I have booked several screenings at the Prince Charles including for The Thing (which I’ve never seen), also the restoration of The Devils (which I have seen) at BFI IMAX and this insane-looking Punchdrunk-esque Irish horror experience, The Nightmare Realm. And of course, a Halloween Ceilidh.

Professional Highlight

I loved working on the return of Woody Sez to London at Underbelly Boulevard - only eleven years after working on its run at the Arts Theatre. Still a brilliant show, and even more relevant now.

Own cultural highlight

The Edinburgh Fringe with my family - quite a different experience this year, and not just what time I went to bed… I (or we) really enjoyed Cirque Kalabante, Spencer Jones’ kids’ show and Mario the Maker Magician, and it turns out that Summerhall is still the most pleasant place to sit in the sun, no matter what the ages of your drinking companions.

Looking forward to

Digging more into what’s really working at the moment! We’ve been doing some clever data-led work on targeting audiences, which seems to be working really well with the distribution and marketing teams. We’ve been able to use twenty years’ worth of street team notes, for instance - who knew how much Orange Tree audiences love Park Theatre shows?!
