What we do

Getting great work in front of the right audiences takes more than one thing done well. It takes strategy, coordination and the right people in the right places at the right moment. We work across the full marketing mix, and our services are designed to combine — PR and marketing together outperform either on their own, and distribution that's tied to digital activity stretches every budget further.

Below is an overview of what we offer. Most of our clients use a combination of services; some come to us for a single focused campaign. Either way, we'll tell you honestly what we think will make the most difference for your project.

PR

Our job is to tell your story — and to find the journalists, critics and editors who'll want to tell it too. We handle media relations for theatre productions, festivals, venues, tours and cultural organisations, from initial press launch to closing night and beyond.

That means press releases and media alerts, press night coordination, review management, feature pitching, interview brokering and crisis communications. It also means something harder to describe: an understanding of what a good story is, who wants to hear it, and how to reach them.

We work nationally and locally, across print, broadcast and digital media, and our contacts span arts and culture desks, lifestyle, health, politics and beyond. We're not just a theatre PR agency — though theatre is where we're deepest. We reach audiences where they actually are.

Marketing

A great PR campaign gets you coverage. A great marketing campaign turns that coverage into ticket sales. We build strategic marketing campaigns that balance paid advertising, digital activity, social media, design, print and distribution — planned around your audience, your budget and your goals.

We work with producers and venues at every scale, from a week-long fringe run to a national tour. We help clients understand their audiences, plan their campaigns, execute with precision and measure what works. For clients who want to build long-term brand presence as well as shift tickets, we think about both.

We also offer standalone marketing support: audience profiling, campaign planning, copywriting, digital advertising and social strategy.

Print distribution

There is still nothing quite like a well-placed poster or a flyer passed hand to hand outside a venue. In a saturated digital landscape, print stands out — and for the right shows and audiences, it converts.

We've been running print distribution campaigns in London for over a decade. Our street team knows the city's cultural geography intimately: which cafés, theatres, record shops, gyms and community spaces reach which audiences, and how to put your print where people are already primed to respond.

We offer poster and flyer campaigns, door drops, hand-to-hand flyering and print booking. We can advise on print quantities, targeting and timing, and we'll tell you if we think your budget is better spent elsewhere.

Influencer PR

The rise of content creators has opened up entirely new routes to arts audiences — particularly younger ones who've never read a print review in their lives. We design bespoke influencer campaigns that match the right voices to the right work, across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and beyond.

We don't work from a generic influencer list. We build relationships with creators who genuinely care about arts, culture, theatre and live performance — people whose audiences trust their recommendations because they've earned that trust. We find the right fit, manage the relationship and track the results.

Edinburgh Fringe

We've been working at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe since 2004. It is its own world — fast-moving, high-stakes, with its own media ecosystem and its own rules. We have a dedicated team on the ground in Edinburgh throughout August, and a track record that includes Perrier and Comedy Award winners, Fringe First recipients, and shows that went on to major productions and international tours.

If you're taking work to Edinburgh — this year or next — get in touch as early as you can. The best campaigns start long before August.

Training and workshops

Not every organisation is ready to hand over a campaign — sometimes what you need is to understand how PR works well enough to run it yourself, or to bring your in-house team up to speed. We offer bespoke training sessions for in-house press officers, emerging producers, artist development programmes and arts organisations of all kinds.

Sessions range from a fifteen-minute Zoom to a half-day workshop, and can cover press campaign basics, how to identify and pitch your angles, working with journalists, understanding the marketing and PR mix, and how to brief and manage an agency. We tailor every session to the level and context of the people in the room — we've delivered training for Clore Leadership, China Plate, Stage One, Mountview, Fun Palaces and New Perspectives, among others.

Adelaide Fringe

Adelaide Fringe is the second largest arts festival in the world — and increasingly, it's where the story of a show begins. Artists test and refine work in front of live audiences in February and March, industry programmers from over 30 countries gather through the Honey Pot marketplace, and the shows that break through in Adelaide arrive in Edinburgh with momentum already built.

Mobius attends Adelaide Fringe as part of our commitment to supporting artists across the full international circuit. We're on the ground to see work in its original context, to help artists start shaping their international narrative months before they reach the UK, and to build the relationships that make a Edinburgh campaign land harder when the time comes.

If you're taking work to Adelaide with a view to Edinburgh or UK touring, we'd love to talk early — the earlier we're involved, the more we can do.

Not sure which services fit your project? We're always happy to talk it through with no obligation. Most conversations start with a producer who knows what they want to achieve but isn't sure how to get there — that's exactly where we're most useful. Get in touch at team@mobiusindustries.com.
