A Guide to Edinburgh

04.04.24

With this year’s Edinburgh Fringe approaching we wanted to put a little post together with some useful tips and thoughts for those of you planning to take your show up.

Whether you're looking for PR tips for this year, thinking about taking a show up to Edinburgh soon, or just trying to get in the spirit of the festival, check out what our team has to say about the upcoming Fringe...

If you’re reading this you’re probably already aware of the phenomenon that is Edinburgh Fringe; it’s bad for your stress levels, it’s bad for your finances, it’s bad for your livers and general nutritious diet plans and getting 8 hours sleep a night? Sure. But we can’t stay away. Amber Massie-Blomfield looks at our relationship with the festival and the way in which we should treat each year as a time for a new adventure. Whilst Rosemary Waugh describes what an amazing space Fringe is for watching international theatre.

Considering a PR for your run can feel quite overwhelming when you’re already juggling applications, budgets and programming, but hopefully our Five tips for finding an Edinburgh Fringe PR might come in handy.

You can also have a read of our blogs posts on five tips on using images to support your press campaign or five tips on giving press interviews in order to make the most of your budget.

As well as being an incredible, passionate, communal, creative, accepting and magical hot pot of people and ideas, this of course faces issues of its own as Jake Mace (Editor of Binge Fringe) discusses. But there’s still so much to gain from a trip to Edinburgh – as our press team’s round up of their 2023 experience describes.

If you’re interested in press for the 2024 festival we still have a few final slots left so please do get in touch.

And if you’re an old hand at this by now, there might be some recognisable characters in Natasha Tripney’s 2022 and 2023 Festival Poems....
